TRAINING PROGRAMS

LMCI Makes House Calls When it Comes to Training: With the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) pumping billions of dollars into infrastructure projects across the nation, the IUPAT is answering the increased demand for certified industrial painters to man growing jobs. To do so, the Painters & Allied Trades Labor Management Cooperation Initiative (LMCI) will arrange for a certified trainer to travel to a contractor's location and provide industrial-painting certification (while it also continues certifying IUPAT members through its training programs throughout the United States, truly giving contractors the power to build their businesses).

The LMCI even takes care of the costs for certification.

“We will do everything to assist the employer," said Kevin LaRue, LMCI administrator. “We'll facilitate the training, provide the instructor, training equipment and books – everything from A - Z. The employer simply sends in his workers, and from there, they get certified.” The LMCI is the only organization of its kind to have a special license agreement with the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) to offer their C-3, C-5 and C-7 certification classes.
