What is LMCI?
The Painters and Allied Trades Labor Management Cooperation Initiative (P&AT LMCI) is a jointly administered Taft-Hartley fund for the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, AFL-CIO, CLC (IUPAT) and contractors signatory to contracts with the IUPAT.
The P&AT LMCI fosters and promotes better labor relations between the union and its employers. The P&AT LMCI also works to enhance market share for contractors signatory to the IUPAT.
Trustees who administer the fund are equally represented on the LMCI by IUPAT representatives and representatives from the Finishing Contractors Association International (FCA)–an advocacy group for unionized finishing contractors.
As industry advocates, we give our contractors and members a single, unified voice on issues of mutual interest.
These issues include areas:
New markets and new technologies; Creating national agreements to capture work; Networking within the industry; Health and safety issues; Apprenticeship training; and Journey-worker continuing education and skills building.
