The advantages of being a member of the LMCI: As a member of the LMCI, you can gain access to a highly skilled workforce and the ability to finish your jobs on time and within budget. Our workers have access to free skills and safety training, including OSHA Standards, EPA and Red Cross certifications in first aid and CPR. Workers receiving these certifications and others including hazardous material handlings and fall protection can lower your worker’s compensation insurance cost. We can perform a safety audit for you and make recommendations to assist you with your health and safety program. You are welcome to ask your insurance representative to join us. We will work with you and your insurance carrier to show how our safety program will help reduce on-the-job incidents . . . resulting in a lower premium. Working with our partners our workers are also trained in all new “state of the art” material, tools and equipment that are available on the market. Skilled workers use materials and manage labor hours wisely, produce quality products and a quality project with a lower incident of on-the-job accidents. As an LMCI member you can lower your insurance cost because you are using a workforce that is trained in jobsite safety and potential health hazards. Our training programs are available throughout North America. To learn more about our courses offered and certifications available in safety and health contact the LMCI Fund Administrator Kevin LaRue at 410-564-5860, toll free: 888-934-6474. These alone are reasons you shouldn’t wait any longer to become a member of the LMCI. SAFETY TRAINING AWARDS RECOGNITION (STAR) STAR is an incentive program that serves to install a culture of safety in the workplace by rewarding ongoing safety training and maintaining a safe work record on the job site. As a result of STAR, employers benefit from more favorable workers’ compensation rates and members are on the job longer without injury.
